Thursdays with Physics (special lecture devoted to Nanotechnology safety)

A presentation about the negative effects of nanotechnologies given by Dr. Rossner (the specialists of the scientific team of LRI NanoEnviCz) - you can watch it on-line on Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t4zzL7TsEU

Nanomaterials are widely used in many industries, medicine, food, and common consumer goods. Although the human body is in regular contact with nanoparticles (NPs) of various natures, the effects of their effects on human health are not systematically assessed. With regard to specific physico-chemical properties, NPs have the potential to cause damage to biological material, and thus increase the risk of many diseases. The aim of the lecture is to acquaint students with the mechanisms of negative biological effects of NP and to approach the methods that are used to analyze these impacts. The lecture will be supplemented by specific results, which were obtained within the solved projects in the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the ASCR, v.v.i.
