Seminar: Carbon, Iron and Silver Based Nanomaterials for Enviromental and Biomedical Technologies

Invited Lecture

 

We would like to invite you to a seminar Carbon, Iron and Silver Based Nanomaterials for Enviromental and Biomedical Technologies given by prof. RNDr. Radek Zbořil, Ph.D. (Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials, Olomouc).


The seminar will take place on 5th of December 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Turquoise seminar room, Institute of Experimental Medicine, Vídeňská 1083, Prague 4, Building LB, 3rd floor.

 

Prof. Radek Zbořil (*1973) is the general director of the Regional
Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials, RCPTM (www.rcptm.com [1])
at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. After Ph.D. study
(2000), he underwent several short-term stays e.g. at University of
Delaware and University of Tokyo. From 2010, he is a full professor at
Palacký University. His research is focused on nanomaterials for
antimicrobial technologies, energy applications, biomedicine, magnetic
devices, catalysis and water treatment. He has co-authored several books
and book chapters, and more than 420 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
His publications have received over 14 000 citations (h-index = 55;
Scopus, October, 2017). He is also a co-author of several European and
US patents and technologies implemented on the market of water treatment
(EP2164656), biomedicine (US 9505027) and food processing (EP 2873329 ).
He is a member of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic, of the
board of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, and of the
editorial boards of various journals published by Elsevier, Nature
family or Wiley. He was awarded by the Prize of Minister of Education of
the Czech Republic (2011 and 1996). Prof. Zbořil is also a general
chairman and co-organizer of the international conferences Nanocon and
Euromat, and a member of the scientific board for chemistry in the
Neuron endowment fund.
